FAQs

  • No. Saline Wound Wash is different than contact solution or nasal spray. Saline Wound Wash is only 0.9% Sodium Chloride Solution and sterile water. Nasal sprays and contact solutions have added ingredients to help clear nasal passages and disinfect/sanitize contacts. Those added ingredients are harmful to healing body piercings, and should not be used in place of saline wound wash.

  • Everyone experiences different “levels” of swelling. Some have delayed swelling, where the piercing won’t reach it’s maximum amount of swelling until a few days after it’s been pierced. Some experience such subtle swelling that it is barely noticeable. Some experience swelling that doubles the area’s thickness. Some clients have swelling that lasts only 5 days, and some clients have swelling that lasts them 3 weeks. Regardless, the initial bar is intentionally longer to accommodate the space required for the body to swell without being crowded. The swelling will subside in it’s own time, when being taken care of properly. There is no rushing the body’s natural process, everyone’s body is very different! However, it’s incredibly important to downsize the jewelry as soon as there is excess length.

  • There are different kinds of bumps (like keloids, isolated infections, hypertrophic scars, fluid build-up, etc.) and each bump needs to be treated differently. Even though there are some at-home treatments that sometimes help, it is always recommended you have it checked by your doctor/dermatologist first. Do not apply any medicines or homeopathic remedies before consulting with your doctor/dermatologist.

  • A neck pillow, aka airplane pillow, is an excellent thing to have when you get a new ear piercing. When you lay the pillow flat, your head is supported while the ear can rest safely in the empty space of the pillow’s center; keeping it safe from any compression in your sleep!

  • Avoid any bras with heavy padding and/or high intensity compression. It’s best to wear something that gives you the support you need, without harming the piercing. Lightly lined bralettes, low-medium impact sports bras, and wireless bras are preferred. When exercising, avoid excess friction to the piercings by wearing a sports bra that gives you the proper amount of support while also not compressing them too much. Do not wear any pasties or sticker/adhesive bras while healing; this will suffocate the piercings and trap moisture/bacteria.

  • The youngest we will pierce ear lobes is 5 years old, but that’s on a case-by-case basis. If your child is expressing distress/high levels of anxiety and cannot remain still or calm enough to receive the piercing, we will not be able to perform the piercing. We will not allow any kind of restraining of children while piercing. We want it to be a fun and memorable experience for everyone involved, so we highly encourage talking with your child before the appointment is made to ensure this is something that they want and they know what to expect during their appointment. Please do not “surprise” the child with an unanticipated appointment.

    1. The minimum age we will pierce cartilages, navels, and nostrils is 13.

    2. The minimum age we will pierce eyebrows, industrials, tongues, smileys, and lips is 16.

    3. You must be 18 years or older for nipple piercings; absolutely no exceptions.

If the piercing appointment is made for a piercing on a minor who does not meet the minimum age for the set piercing appointment, you are liable for paying for the allotted session and will not be refunded. Please read the above minimum age requirements before scheduling your appointment.

  • A valid government issued photo ID is mandatory for all piercing appointments, such as a Passport, Military ID, Learner’s Permit, Driver’s License, or State Photo ID.

For minor’s, we need proof of identification such as a birth certificate or a government-issued photo ID and the parent’s government-issued photo ID (such as a Passport, Military ID, Learner’s Permit, Driver’s License, or State Photo ID.) School ID’s are not accepted. State Photo ID’s are easy to acquire via your local BMV; call your desired BMV and ask about what their requirements are to get a State Photo ID if it’s for your child. If the minor and parent’s last names do not match, we will need additional documentation proving the parent’s guardianship (birth certificate or custody paperwork.) If you have a special circumstance (ex. the minor is adopted or the legal guardian’s current name is not on the birth certificate,) you will need to call the shop to confirm with us what will be acceptable verification. If the proper paperwork and identification is not brought to your appointment, you are liable for paying for the allotted session and will not be refunded. We want you to be prepared for your appointment as best as possible, so please call the shop if you have any questions regarding the ID requirements.

All minors must be accompanied by their legal guardian when coming to an appointment. Minors are prohibited from scheduling their own appointments, their legal guardian must set it up on their behalf.

  • The terms of booking an appointment, including cancellation fees, are presented to you in writing when you set your appointment. If the following standards are not met, you are liable to paying for the appointment in full.

Minors are discouraged from setting their own appointments; they must be made by the legal guardian who will be attending their appointment. If a minor arrives without their guardian and/or without the proper identification, there will be a charge to the card that was used to make the appointment made in the full amount of the service’s reservation.

Anyone receiving a piercing must bring a state/government issued photo ID; this does not include a school ID, or any home-made form of identification. Other forms of identification that are not acceptable due to lacking a photo include the following: social security card, insurance card, or a birth certificate. We must have a photo ID of the individual to properly identify them. For minors, we are required by the State of Ohio to have a photo ID from both the legal guardian and the minor; the home addresses and last names must match. If they do not match, we are required to have additional legal documentation to prove the guardianship is legitimate (ex. birth certificate that has the guardian’s and minor’s name, court documentation stating legal guardianship of the minor, marriage certificate to prove the parent’s change of name alongside a birth certificate if the guardian’s name is not presently accurate on said birth certificate.) Photo identification that is deemed acceptable include the following: Passport, State Photo ID, Military ID, Learner’s Permit, and Driver’s License. It is the client’s responsibility to bring the proper identification and paperwork to their appointment.

A cancellation fee will be charged if the client arrives more than 10 minutes late to their appointment; we will not have time to begin your service after a certain amount of time has passed in your session, when we have other appointments to attend to as well. The cancellation fee is equivalent to the amount of the service reserved in the appointment.

No fees will be charged if rescheduled at least 12 hours before your appointment. To reschedule, there will be a link available to you in the email confirmation for that appointment. Follow these easy steps to reschedule:
